The international ‘Napoleonic’ bivouac will be open from Friday september 4th till Sunday September 6th in the castle domain ‘de Renesse’ in the village of Oostmalle. In green surroundings the re-enactors will enjoy a beautiful view on the castle.
Our bivouac can be reached by car. Small trucks or lorries can park at a distance of only 50 m of the entrance (please mention bigger transportation).
The French and Allied troops are placed together but each camp on his own side.
Only the cavalary is placed 600 meters further where they are placed near the horse paddock of the castle. Here they can practice peacefully as much as they want. From this point several horse trails starts in the natural forrests. This bivouac can also be reached upon 100 meters with heavy trailers.
Already in september 2007 a smaller event took place with 100 participants. This ‘sweet maker’ turned out very well. In 2009 we expect re-enactors from the U.K, France, Germany, Holland and Belgium.
